Pattaya to Koh Samet

The trip from Pattaya to Koh Samet involves a one hour drive to the coastal town of Ban Phe and then a 45 minute ferry ride from the Ban Phe pier to the island of Koh Samet. From Pattaya, Thai bus services are available to Ban Phe very cheaply although these regular buses stop frequently and take a couple of hours to reach the coastal town. The best option to get from Pattaya to Koh Samet is to buy a seat on an express minivan from most Pattaya travel agencies that will usually reach the pier at Ban Phe in less than one hour. A seat on the minibus will cost a couple hundred baht and the ferry only costs 50 baht one way to Koh Samet.

The Bus from Pattaya to Mukdahan

You can catch the bus from Pattaya to Mukdahan every day of the week. The Pattaya to Mukdahan bus service is available in the evenings each day and leaves the Pattaya bus terminal at 7pm, 7.45pm and 8.30pm. However, the bus to catch is the 8.30 service since it is the VIP bus which allows you to stretch out for the duration of the trip from Pattaya to Mukdahan, the current cost for the VIP bus is 657 baht one way. The earlier buses that leave the station have much less leg room than the 32 seat full size VIP bus service.

Pattaya Bungy Jump

The Pattaya Jungle bungy jump is located half way down Thepprasit Road on the left hand side if you are coming from the Sukhumvit main road. The bungy jump in Pattaya is part of a larger sports complex which also caters for a number of other action sports enthusiasts. Unlike other bungy jumps around the world that jump from bridges, the Pattaya bungy jump (also spelt bungee) is a large steel structure towering into the sky.

Horn Bar Walking Street Pattaya

You will find the Horn Bar Pattaya about half way down Walking Street if coming from the Beach road end of Walking Street. Keep an eye out for the huge overhanging sign on Walking Street pointing left towards Happy a Go Go, the Horn Bar is right next door. Although the Horn Bar appears a lot like many of the other beers bars around Pattaya and Walking Street it is distinguished by a giant horn that is activated by pulling a thick rope hanging alongside the bar counter. When ever anyone pulls the horn that person shouts all the patrons a drink of their own choice.

Jomtien Beach Ladyboys

Jomtien Beach has always been known as the gay beach in Pattaya especially at the northern end. Lately there have been numerous Jomtien Beach ladyboys frolicking in the water at the northern end of the beach and also hanging around the walkway just to the north of the Jomtien Beach police box on the corner of the main road that runs along the beach.

Climate in Pattaya

The Pattaya climate like most of Thailand is hot almost all year round. Since Pattaya is located close to the equator it never really gets what you would call cold although the climate in Pattaya does have differing seasons. Due to the excellent climate in Pattaya 12 months of the year, it makes Pattaya an ideal destination for tourists wanting to escape the cold weather in their own country and enjoy the always welcoming Thai hospitality.

The Pattaya Elephant Farm and Shooting Range is a great way to spend a few hours while on holidays in Pattaya. The Elephant Farm and Shooting Range is located on Thepprasit Road which comes off Sukhumvit Road. From the Sukhumvit end travel along Thepprasit Road for about 4km and it’s on your left hand side. Not only can you ride elephants and shoot guns you can also hire quad bikes which are like motorbikes with 4 big rough rider 4×4 wheels. Pattaya Go Kart Speedway

The Pattaya Go Kart Speedway is one of a number of go kart tracks in the local area but it is the only international standard go kart track in Pattaya. Pattaya Go Kart Speedway is located half way along Thepprasit Road which comes off the main highway Sukhumvit Road. Coming from the Sukhumvit end of Thepprasit Road it is about 2km down on the right hand side.

Pattaya to Koh Larn Coral Island

There are a few of ways to get from Pattaya to Koh Larn which is commonly referred to as Coral Island. There is no airport on Koh Larn so all modes of transport are by water. Coral Island is the biggest of all the islands off the Pattaya coastline that are still visible from the mainland. Although there are a number of smaller islands off the Pattaya coast, Koh Larn is predominantly the only one worth going to since it has a number of beautiful beaches as well as other tourist attractions to keep you occupied.
