The Pattaya Elephant Farm and Shooting Range is a great way to spend a few hours while on holidays in Pattaya. The Elephant Farm and Shooting Range is located on Thepprasit Road which comes off Sukhumvit Road. From the Sukhumvit end travel along Thepprasit Road for about 4km and it’s on your left hand side. Not only can you ride elephants and shoot guns you can also hire quad bikes which are like motorbikes with 4 big rough rider 4×4 wheels. If you have never shot a high powered pistol before this is the place to do it.

The Pattaya Elephant Farm is ideal for kids since they can take a ride on an elephant that is accustomed to carrying tourists and is happy being around people. Not all elephants like being around people but these elephants are constantly around people and so you are as safe as you could be with an elephant. Most kids and adults as well get quite a kick out of riding an elephant.

For those of you who are fascinated with guns, the Pattaya Shooting Range has all the fire power of a Dirty Harry movie including the gun Dirty Harry uses himself, the big boy 44 Magnum. This gun can literally blow a hole in a brick wall so you would not want to accidentally pull the trigger while you have the gun pointing at your foot or you will be hopping home. Seriously though, the Pattaya Shooting Range is quite safe as long as you keep the rules in mind and the staff will show you how to safely handle a loaded gun. If you have never shot a real gun before you might be quite surprised at the recoil some of these high powered handguns have. You pay by the bullet so how many shots you fire at the range is up to you. You can also choose which gun you want to fire.

Hiring the ATV’s, which are the 4×4 motorbikes are a real buzz and ideal for thrillseekers. At the elephant farm and shooting range they have a mini four wheel drive track to ride the rough riders around for sessions lasting 10 minutes at a time. The ATV’s move very fast so it is entirely at your own risk but if you are careful you will have a wild time doing something that is just not available at most holiday destinations. This is a great venue to spend a half day or an afternoon followed by a few drinks at the bar or you could take a quick baht bus ride to Jomtien Beach afterwards which is just around the corner.
