Pattaya Go Go Bars

For the single guy visiting Pattaya the local Pattaya go-go bars are a sight for sore eyes. It is the go-go bars in Thailand and especially in Pattaya that attract what is commonly known as the sex tourist. I don’t think I need to explain what a sex tourist is and because you are on the internet reading a website about Pattaya I bet there is a pretty good chance you know exactly what a sex tourist is, since you are or have been a sex tourist here before or you can’t wait to become one. Well that’s ok and you’ve come to the right place.

Unfortunately a lot of people think that Thailand is just one giant brothel, this is definitely not the case. Thailand only gets this reputation because many of the visitors who come here are sex tourists and after they go back home this is how the rumor spreads but in actual fact very few parts of Thailand are like Pattaya but in terms of sex tourism, if that’s what you are looking for, Pattaya is for you.

The go-go bars in Pattaya are so popular with foreigners and not only men, I have seen many women walk out the door of a go-go bar holding the hand of a go-go dancer with the exact same intentions of any man who leaves with a go-go bar girl. I think the main appeal of go-go bars is the fact you really can see everything before you buy, so to speak, as the go-go dancers are scantily dressed up on the raised go-go floor which often runs through the middle of the bar with stadium or step like seating along the walls.

In these bars the girls usually dance and slide up and down poles wearing bikinis or in some go-go bars they wear nothing at all. This undoubtedly gets most men and some women quite excited and especially when the girls perform naked “shows” with one another. I won’t go into detail, I’ll leave that up to your imagination but if you have never been to a Pattaya go-go bar before and you like sexy young women, well you have something to look forward to.

Some go-go bar dancers like to interact with the crowd and often drag a foreigner up on stage to be the center of attention in one of their overtly sexual shows. When this happens you would not believe what some of these girls will do to the foreigner but all I can say is it is absolutely hilarious and perhaps even shocking to some onlookers but the general rule is it’s all in the name of fun and everyone usually gets a laugh out of it. I was the unfortunate victim on one of my first trips to Thailand and my mates were laughing so hard that I think they wet themselves watching me on stage with the sexy young girl performing the show. It was quite an experience but I don’t think I will be tricked into that again but there is always someone drunk enough, crazy enough or adventurous enough to get up and have a go.

The go-go bars always charge a premium price as a “bar fine” which is a payment you need to pay to the bar if you want to take one of the girls with you. Most go-go bars charge about 500-600 baht as the bar fine and then it’s up to you to negotiate what you will pay the girl for her time, how long she will stay with you and what is she prepared to do for you or to you, once again I will leave that up to your wild imagination. Most go-go girls will want between 1000-3000 baht for the full night or maybe less for a “short time” which is just a short stay at your hotel room for an hour or two.

Go-go bars are located all over Pattaya from Beach road to Second road and all the sois (streets) in between. Walking Street is jam packed with wild go-go bars that offer a range of sexy shows for all tastes. Along Walking Street you will also find ladyboy go-go bars and in between Beach road and Second road you will find a small gay area known as “boyztown” where there are gay go-go bars. The go-go bar scene in Pattaya is one of the best in all of Thailand, it’s quite a spectacle and a great place to have a drink and enjoy the show even if you are not interested in taking a girl.

So if you are heading to Pattaya no doubt you will roll into at least one or two go-go bars while you are in town. While you are there you’ll have a great time as the girls are usually very friendly. Sometimes they can be a little annoying if they constantly hound you for a drink or insist they go with you but it’s entirely up to you what you do but one thing to keep in mind is most of these girls are from extremely poor families in the country areas of Thailand so show them the respect they deserve whether or not you approve of what they are doing. Just enjoy yourself and remember they are there to make money but who knows you might meet someone special, you certainly wouldn’t be the first.
