Having driven quite a few laps around the track at the Pattaya Go Kart Speedway over the years, I can tell you the go karts are so unbelievably fast that you would definitely need a license to drive go karts of this caliber in just about any other country in the world. This is not the case in Pattaya however, your cash is what will do the talking at the track and no license is required. The more cash you are prepared to spend, the faster the car you can hire.
If you have never raced go karts before I would recommend starting with a medium speed car to begin with. Although each session only lasts for 15 minutes, don’t be surprised if you are thoroughly exhausted after one session since driving these high performance go karts at high speed is quite a workout. If you hire the fastest go karts available without a lot of previous experience you might find it hard to keep the car on the track or you may have to work so hard to keep the go kart under control that you might not really enjoy yourself. If you take a medium speed car to begin with you can always hire a higher powered car on your next run after a cool drink and a breather.
The track at the Pattaya Go Kart Speedway has a long home straight in front of the long viewing area at the front of the track and the track also has a number of sweeping turns and sharp corners to test your driving skills. It is a ton of fun to take the track with a bunch of your friends when you all hire similar powered cars and you can make a real competition out of it.
Although you do see the occasional accident at the Pattaya go kart track, generally it is quite safe if you avoid trying to overtake on the corners where there is a chance of hitting another car and losing control. If you roll the car you could be in for a serious injury but the cars are designed in such a way that they would be quite difficult to roll over unless you hit another car at high speed on a corner.
While driving the karts and the Pattaya international go kart track you will feel as though you are traveling at incredibly high speed since you are literally sitting just inches off the ground. As the road flies by just underneath you it feels exhilarating and is quite an addictive feeling if you are into high speed or action sports. If you are in Pattaya and want to get your heart pumping, you will be in for the ride of your life at the go kart speedway.
